Father's Day 2013

We had a very low-key Father's Day, which is just the way we like it!

This was taken yesterday afternoon. I can't believe how big our little man is getting! I'm so thankful for him & for making us parents.

Owen has become such a daddy's boy & I can completely see why. Adam is such an amazing father to him & I love to see them interact. We are both so lucky to have him in our lives!

Happy Father's Day hunny. We both love you to the moon & back!

All at MJ & Zoa's swim meet. Owen splashed in the pool water for the first time & loved it! He ended up napping on the gym floor he was so exhausted.

7 Months

Owen-

You are SEVEN months old today! It seems like just yesterday you were born, but then again, I don't remember my life without you in it.

Oh, SLEEP. You crazy little thing, you. You are so all over the place with sleep, that I'm not even sure what your normal is anymore. ha! For the past 3 weeks, your sleeping habits have changed so much. Let's just say, your average wake-ups per night were 5+ times up until a few days ago. Momma & Daddy needed a LOT of coffee during those days. Now, you are waking up 2x per night. You go to sleep around 8:30, wake up around 1 or 2 for a bottle & again around 5, then sleep until 6, very rarely 7. You nap, for the most part, 3 times a day (a 2ish hour morning nap, a 1-2 hour afternoon nap, then usually a 30 minute-1 hour evening nap). You stay awake for 2-4 hours in between each nap, depending on your mood. I'm hoping next time we have this little sleep chat during your 8 month post, that you will be sleeping through the night. One can only hope!

We also had another first this month. You currently have your first ear infection along with sinus congestion, coughing, & sneezing. You are on antibiotics & we have been to the doctor twice in the past week for this. If I could be sick just so you could be healthy, I would in a heartbeat. You are acting pitiful & it breaks my heart that I can't do anything for you. This probably also plays a role in the lack of sleep for the past few weeks & so we're thinking once this clears, you'll be back to your normal sleep schedule. I just feel awful for you, though.

You are working on your fourth tooth! When we took your to your 6 month check-up, Dr Dodson actually realized that you had 3 teeth & your fourth tooth is trying to make it's appearance. Since then, it's come part-way through, but not all the way through. Your third & fourth tooth are your upper "fang" teeth. I love when you smile & we are able to see those little teeth!

You are quite the sitter now & have even started "army crawling". You "crawl" everywhere & love to scoot to get to sissy (Juno). You are so incredibly close to crawling & will even get up on all fours, but quickly drop to your belly just because it's faster for you. Silly boy!

(Monthly pictures are getting harder & harder to get. The boy doesn't stop moving!)

We got you a walker for maw-maw's house & after seeing how much you loved it, bought one for our house. We have officially retired your swing & bathtub. You simply didn't like the swing much & we have now moved on to bathing you while you are sitting on a towel in the bathtub. You are growing up too fast, bubba!

You are eating like a champ! You have had too many foods to name & there isn't one that you don't like! You are onto "Stage 2" baby foods, but momma is making some of your food. You eat cereal in the mornings & then baby food 1-2 times a day. You drink 4 oz of formula with your meals, but otherwise take 5-6 oz. We also gave you "puffs" the other day & you just weren't sure about them. The face you made was priceless!

You are in some 6-9 month clothing but some 12 month onesies. You are in a size 3 diaper throughout the day, but we put you in a size 4 for night time to prevent leaks.

7 month stats:
Height: 29 inches
Weight: 21 pounds

Owen, you have brought so much happiness to our lives. We love you to the moon & back!
