iPhone pics! (very picture heavy)

I am horrible about uploading my iPhone pictures, but I'm really going to try to be better about this because I take so many more pictures on my phone than on my camera. Even though they aren't the best of quality, they are still memories, laughs, smiles, & worth documenting & remembering what was going on during them. Here are a collection of my (many) favorites over the past few months..

I'm going to try to do either a weekly or monthly post so the next phone picture dump doesn't have to be this long!

Squeal!

Like I mentioned in my previous post, Owen tries so hard to scream, but it just comes out in a squeal since he sucks in. Funny boy! I had to catch it on video on Tuesday so I can remember this while I still think it's cute! ha!

Bonus, Owen rolls back to belly in it with big sissy (Juno) watching close by.

6 Months

Owen -

You are SIX months old today! That means we are officially on the downhill slope to 1 year old, which, quite frankly, makes momma sad!

This is by far me & your daddy's most favorite stage so far. You are so much fun & so interactive with us. We absolutely love it!

You have changed so much in the past month, both inside & out.

What you're up to:

First & foremost, SLEEP. You gave us a 9 hour stretch 2 nights ago! If only it were like that every other night. ha! For the most part, your sleeping has improved so much. You go to bed around 8:30 (rarely) to 9. We dream feed you around 10 before we go to bed, then you sleep until 4 (most nights) but sometimes stretch it out until 6 or so. At the beginning of your 6 month, when you were teething, it was much, much worse & you were waking anywhere from 2-4 times a night. Now, we'll take 1 wakeup! You rarely wake up just for a pacifier now &  just wake to eat. Thankfully, you go right back to sleep after getting your belly full. You wake up around 7 for the day. We put you into bed with us & sometimes you'll go back to sleep until 8 or 8:30, but usually we're up. For most of the month, you were taking cat naps throughout the day, with staying awake for 2-3 hours at a time. You would take 1 good nap during the day lasting 2 hours, but other than that, you were doing 30 minute cat naps. We changed nothing & it ended up working it's way out about a week ago. Now, you take a 2 hour morning & afternoon nap, then take about an hour late afternoon nap. This is SO much better & makes for planning the day easier.

Like I mentioned, you've been teething. The first week of this month was pure torture, for you & for mommy & daddy! You FINALLY cut your first tooth the day after you turned 5 months (Monday, April 8th). It was your bottom left tooth. When you still weren't back to your happy self, we knew something was up. That's because you cut your second tooth the following week (Monday, April 15th). The second tooth was your bottom right tooth. Two teeth in one week is hard work, buddy! Ever since you cut your teeth, you've been SUCH a happy boy & we're so glad to have you back to your normal self!

(look at those teeth!)

Even though you cut your first two teeth, you are still drooling everywhere & putting anything you can get your tiny hands on in your mouth. It's quite funny to see what you will try to put in there.. including our phones. Uncle Jeremy even gave you his old iPhone that no longer works just so you don't ruin ours. Silly boy!

You are rolling belly to back & back to belly. It's funny because as soon as we put you down on the floor, you roll to your belly. You used to hate tummy time, remember? You are constantly moving & rolling all over the floor! Over the past week, you have mastered sitting up on your own & will do it for minutes at a time before toppling over. It's quite cute to watch! You get so excited because you're doing it, then you flail your arms which makes you fall over. Pretty entertaining, bubby!

You have also found your voice. You try to scream, but instead of shouting out, you inhale in & squeal. You do this when you're super happy & excited. It's cute to hear now but I'm sure that will eventually change! ha!  You laugh all the time & it's full on belly laughs. We absolutely adore hearing you laugh. Best sound ever!

We gave you a bath in just the bathtub instead of your tub because Aunt Alaina did this at her house & you LOVED it. Your bath tub might have to be retired soon.

(and before people freak out, we were right there & Adam put his hand right back on him after I took these pictures)

You love to watch TV! Some days, the only way mommy & daddy can get anything done around the house is to put Baby Einstein or Mickey Mouse on. Don't worry though, we don't let you watch TV too often!

You love being outside & tend to sleep better after some fresh air. We've gone on plenty of walks in your stroller & you love to look around & take everything in. I hope the weather stays nice so we can make the walk a daily thing!

You have outgrown your swing so that will be going to storage soon. We've put together your high chair a week ago & you love sitting in it to both eat & play with toys. Speaking of the high chair, you LOVE to eat. We have given you oatmeal/cereal, bananas, green beans, sweet potatoes, apples, squash, & applesauce. You love them all except you're not too sure about bananas. We'll keep trying though! It's so funny to watch you eat. If we put the spoon in front of your mouth but get distracted & just hold it there, you get mad & put your hand on the spoon & do it yourself. So cute! You are eating 4-5 oz every 3-4 hours. When we give you solids, you tend to want only 4 oz of formula. We are giving you 2-3x/day (including cereal in the morning). You love to eat, mister!

You are in 6-9 month clothing, with some 12 month onesies thrown in there. We got you some little shorts for summer & you look so darn adorable in them! You are in a size 3 diaper.

6 month stats:
Height: 28.75 inches
Weight: 20 lbs, 8 oz

Owen, you are the best thing that's ever happened to mommy & daddy. We love you so, so much! We can't wait to see what the next month holds!
